A few weeks ago I came across a video by The Thermals for their single “Now We Can See” from their album of the same name.
This single, like much of the album instantly borrowed it’s way into my consciousness, I found myself humming it throughout the day after having only heard the song a couple of times. The rest of their album is just as catchy, it harkens back to the best of 90′s alt rock without simply repeating what’s been done before.
At just over 40 minutes this is an album that stands up to repeat back to back listening, and not a single filler track that makes you reach for the skip button. A rare gem to find an album that strong from start to finish these days. Easily my favourite album of 2009 so far.
